Alex Brown Laces Up His Running Shoes for a Good Cause, London Marathon

It started with eating healthier and trail running. Then came the 5Ks… Bristow Winch Operator Alex Brown is well on his way to running in the London Marathon for a good cause. On April 26, 2020, Alex will lace up his running shoes for the marathon while also raising funds for the National Autistic Society.

While this is not Alex's first marathon, it has been quite a while since he last participated in one, so the training has been intense.

"Since I started training, I've lost weight, gained muscle and pushed my heart and lungs," said Brown. "I just recently completed my half marathon training, and I'm really looking forward to the big event!"

Brown set a goal to raise £2,200.00 for the National Autistic Society, and he's already off to a great start of fundraising.

"The charity's work is very close to my heart, as it plays a pivotal role in providing support to autistic people and their families," said Brown. "The organization's goal is to change perceptions and create a society that works for autistic people. It provides invaluable training and advice to families such as mine. As a family, we've witnessed first-hand that autism affects nearly every aspect of life – for the person with autism, as well as everyone around them."
