Bristow Takes American Red Cross Over Flooded Areas Near Houston

Bristow flew American Red Cross President and CEO Gail McGovern, Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and members from the American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region on an air tour over the swollen Brazos River June 6, 2016, for an up-close look at the devastation caused by the record floods west of Houston, Texas.

Bristow Americas Regional Director of Operations Bob Old quickly rallied a plan to accommodate the request from the Red Cross for support. Pilots Marvin Robbins and Chris Bastien brought a Sikorsky S-76 from Galliano to transport the Red Cross over the Greater Houston Area. Bristow President and CEO Jonathan Baliff met the relief group at the West Houston Airport following a press conference at Houston's City Hall. After interviews of the officials in front of the helicopter by local television station KHOU-TV, the pilots, with assistance from A&P Mechanic Jonathan "JJ" Orgis, conducted a safety briefing before loading the group on board to tour the areas of flood devastation.

"I am proud that we continue to support our communities in times of desperate need," said Baliff.
