Era Group Announces Appointment of Sten Gustafson as Chief Executive Officer

LAKE CHARLES, LA--(Marketwire - Mar 26, 2012) - Era Group Inc. ("ERA") today announced that Sten L. Gustafson will join the company as Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2012. Mr. Gustafson comes from Deutsche Bank Securities, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Energy, Americas. Charles Fabrikant, who resigned as President and Chief Executive Officer, will continue to serve as Chairman of Era Group.

Mr. Gustafson joins Era Group after a successful 17-year career in energy investment banking, prior to which he also spent several years as a corporate and securities attorney. Most recently, Mr. Gustafson served as Head of Energy, Americas for Deutsche Bank, where he had global responsibility for oilfield services. During his banking career, Mr. Gustafson advised a wide range of energy clients in numerous strategic, debt and equity transactions around the world.

Mr. Gustafson graduated from Rice University with a bachelor's degree in English, and received his law degree from the University of Houston.

Robert Van de Vuurst spent over twenty years specializing in aviation law at Baker Donelson before joining Era in June 2010, first as General Counsel, after which he assumed the position of Chief Operating Officer in February 2011.
